Melanie, M.A., CCC-SLP
SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST
About Me
Melanie brings a wealth of experience from both clinical and educational settings, having previously been a vital member of the pediatric feeding team at Memorial Health.
Originally hailing from a charming mountain town in Virginia, Melanie’s journey led her to the Savannah area after graduating from Appalachian State University in 2003. She now calls Richmond Hill home, where she resides with her husband and three sons. Outside of her professional commitments, Melanie finds solace and joy in the outdoors, beach excursions, crafting, and, above all, creating cherished moments with friends and family.
In Melanie’s eyes, the most fulfilling aspect of her role as a Speech-Language Pathologist is witnessing children achieve communication milestones and expand their language skills. The sheer delight of a parent hearing their child utter “Mom” or “Dad” for the first time is an experience Melanie considers truly invaluable.
Describing her treatment approach as child-led, structured play, Melanie firmly believes that allowing children to choose preferred toys or activities significantly enhances motivation and engagement. Her enthusiasm is particularly directed towards collaborating with our exceptional staff and the multi-disciplinary team of therapists at Chatterbox. Melanie is eager to contribute to the growth and success of the children she works with, making a lasting impact on their communication journey.
