When it comes to building strength, balance, and coordination, consistency is key—and that includes practicing physical therapy exercises outside of sessions. Fortunately, you don’t need a gym or special equipment to support your child’s physical development at home.
Here are 5 kid-friendly exercises our PTs love:
- Animal Walks (bear crawl, crab walk, frog jumps) – great for motor planning
- Wall Sits – builds leg and core strength
- Balance Beam Walks – use painter’s tape on the floor!
- Ball Tossing – improves coordination and bilateral skills
- Stair Climbing – supervised stair play can build strength and confidence
These fun, movement-based activities are easy to incorporate into playtime. Always check with your therapist for custom modifications!
