Emma received her BA in Communication Sciences and Disorders and a MS in Speech Language Pathology from the University of South Florida. Watching children learn and grow brings her an immense amount of joy. As each child has their own unique personality, she feels it is a privilege to help that shine through helping them acquire language. Emma’s approach to therapy is client-centered and child-led. Incorporating special interests and functional skills into treatment is something she makes sure to consider within speech sessions. Emma firmly believes that a child’s support system is vital to their growth and ensure that family and caregiver’s are apart of the learning process as well. She specialises in Augmentative and Alternative Communication, specifically Speech Generating Devices and enjoys finding the most appropriate means of communication for children, training parents along that journey as well. Language acquisition, Gestalt Language Processing, and early language development are a few of her other special interests. Emma is also PROMPT trained. She can’t wait to continue meeting new families and watching children grow as a member of the clinical team at Chatterbox. In her free time, you can typically find her reading, practicing yoga or spending time outdoors.
